I can not find anything in the laws about if a 410 shot gun shell used in a derringer can be legally concealed? Any Ideas?

I have even sent notes to CLEET and several judges seem to want to run from that question.

The answer almost everyone gave me, Use the 410 if you want at home, and use the 45 long colt out of the house with your CCW permit.

It all depends on the DA in your area.

Well i have read the entire way through the oklahoma self defense act (it took me a bit) and i do not recall anything about darrengers. if you want an official answer (at least for oklahoma) the osbi or your local sherrifs dept would be a good place to start

I don't recall seeing anything in the Nevada law about shot shells used in pistols.

It's not a problem in FL. Our concealed permit is a 'Concealed Weapon or Firearm License' we can carry whatever we want club, sword, gun etc. as long as we can conceal it...

I still a Snake Charmer pistol. A over and under with 22 mag rimfire and 410 shotgun. Legal when purchased in 1968. Once used it to flush out rabbits with the .22 mag and shoot them with the 410. But I got to head shooting rabbits with a .45 Government. While good with both pistols and rifles I am not with shotguns. I am also a terrible shot with all double action revolvers. Too long a trigger pull as a double. Firing them single, all mine exhibit hair triggers also spoiling my accuracy.

ok guys and Ladi di i am pretty sure that i have found an answer for the long debated 410 question (at least for oklahoma) in the revised SDA for oklahoma of 2006, on page 3 prohibited amunition. it says that no round larger than a 45 (which i consider a 410 to be) is prohibited.

I was told by several people including Atty's that there is a spot in the 2006 guide that says "Slugs" may not be used. There are 410 3's that can be shot.

I was also told that it would be dependent on the DA. Every Police man I have talked to did not know the answer and suggested not to use the 410 unless at home, and use the .45 on the road or when CCW.

A full load of 250 grain .45 Longcolt is a powerful round for defence.
