The Illinois State Police who issues the Firearm Owners ID cards (FOID) is refusing to issue FOID cards to anyone under 10 years of old. There is no age provision in Illinois law. The Illinois State Police say they are not issuing FOID cards because the law "may" change and the minimum age may be set at 10 years old. Applications for those under 10 years of age are being returned.
The Illinois State Police apparently believe it is their job to not only enforce laws but to make them.
Using their logic Illinoisans should be able to conceal carry now because the law may change and allow it.
