Does anyone know about the Iowa "Shall Issue" deba

I had read that Iowa Sheriffs were upset about losing their power over issuing conceal carry permits and that there was a push for "shall issue" changes in the legislation. Does anyone know about this? I'm relocating to Iowa in a couple of months and would like to know what I can do to support any gun rights efforts. Thanks!

I just searched the current legislation before the IA Legislature and found a few bills related to the move from may issue to shall-issue and at least one that also moved toward recognition of other states' licenses as well, but none have passed or even moved out of committee to date.
