well after asking questions and recieveing answers here about different pistols , and then comparing the feel and workmanship, I finally bought a new Kimber tactical ultra II . I put 150 rounds through it this afternoon ( wish I had time for more ) and am VERY HAPPY with it. It can certainly shoot better groups than I am capable of at the momment.:-) There really are a lot of fine pistols out there but I am a 1911 , .45 type of guy.

Well Evil Ernie..I am lucky to be able to turn this newfangled machine on and off :) so posting a pic might be a long time comeing..LOL..( trying to say i don't have the slightest idea how to try to do that. ) I just hope I can get out next time to shoot without the wind gusts...at least I hope thats why those groups weren't down to 1 inch .

Don't sweat it Jay, I can only get 3" groups at 10 yards with my 1911, but I ain't complaining! My target after the first 100 rounds thru it looked like a shotgun pattern! The second 100 rnds were definitely better! Give it time to break in and for you to get used to it. You'll be dropping rounds with surgical precision in no time.
Now the 9mm is a different situation. I think I'd still get birdshot patterns at 1 foot...grr...

Congrats.
I've had an Ultra Carry II for two years now & it's by far my favorite. Be careful & patient when breaking it down. Tight tolerances mean the disassembly latch can be a bit of a challenge to reassemble at first and you don't want to scratch the frame. Get it all in place, then push in, backwards & down at the same time with your thumb. Sounds weird, but it works. If you try to push it up into place you might scratch it. It becomes "old hat" soon enough, & you won't even need the tool. Point it into the mirror & check out that "trian tunnel". In good light you can see a Federal Hydrashock sitting in there. Pretty intimidating, huh?
Oh yeah, The steep ramp on a scaled down 1911 doesn't like certain blunt, long ammo. Regular ball ammo and good hollow points are tasty treats for it. The Hydra Shocks are nice & short, so they feed well.
Enjoy!
Hey mods, when can we post pictures off our own computers without going to a URL??? Or can we & I just don't know it?

Hey mods, when can we post pictures off our own computers without going to a URL??? Or can we & I just don't know it?

Pick an answer:

1) When we get software that will allow it. ;-)

2) When we have server space to allow a gazillion pics to be uploaded and kept there forever.

3) When libs recognize the 2A for what it is; a restriction on them, not us.

All kidding and sarcasm aside, to my knowledge, this is not in the works. There are some technical issues, as I alluded above, and URLs and the IMG tag do work fairly well. (on some occasions, too well- I had to go through one thread and change all the images to URLs just to make the thread easily loadable and a bit more readable.)

Blessings,
B
