I came across an interesting story on KFVS TV's website kfvs12.com.

A judge has appointed a special prosecutor to decide if any charges should be brought against Uniion County States Attorney Allen James.

It all stems from an incident that occured outside the Jonesboro courthouse in March.

Process server Sean Chris Dees of Nashville said he was serving a summons to James when he pulled a gun on him. James says that Dees assaulted him.

Judge Terry Foster appointed Wayne County States Attorney Kevn Kakac to decide if any charges should be filed.

This should be interesting. To those of you outside Illinois. There are no concealed carry permits issued in Illinois. Carrying a loaded concealed firearm, unless you are law enforcement is a Unlawful Use of Weapons charge, a felony.

Something else I was wondering, since it was outside the courthouse, does Mr. James pack in the courthouse? I don't imagine he has to go through the metal detector like the rest of us.

Just another example of Those-Who-Know-Better-Than-Us getting caught in a wee bit of hypocrisy. Tsk-tsk!

I posted this on the Illinoiscarry.com forum and someone mentioned that the States Attorney can appoint a special investigator who can have carry priviledges if he has passed the state training course that LEOs are required to pass. The question then is did he appoint himself a special investigator, and if so did he take the training course? The county board is supposed to approve a salary for the special investigator, as well.
