I've read about different brands of personal defense rounds on other forums. Speer Gold dot is one I've heard frequently. I have inquired at sporting goods stores and even a large gun store that has a lot of reloading products and they didn't have it. The salesman sold me some Hornady 115 gr JHP/XTP part#90252 which he spoke highly of. Maybe it's because I live in a "right denied" state but I can never find the brands mentioned frequently on firearms forums. I did find mention of the Hornady round somewhere, and it was spoken well of. Any place have the Winchester Ranger T 127 gr +P+? Is Winchester 115 gr JHP (USA9JHP) very good, that at least is available.

Junglebob, If you don't mind buying online check out Ammo Bank and Ammuntion to go I've purchased from both.

I do like the idea of being able to purchase locally. My reason is I could get a box or two, not have the cost of shipping, and be able to try it out in my handgun to see how it works. I'd rather not buy several hundred rounds and then find I don't like it. I'm looking for something that isn't $2 a round either. I can't see myself shooting very much of that, so how would I know if it is always going to feed?

Dogman, I went to Ammobank.com They do have a nice selection of JHP 9mm ammo, maybe too much. Any certain one anyone would recommend? The Federal Premium P9HST1# 124 gr. caught my eye, for one thing it said Tactical Law Enforcement. Anyone know of police, sheriff or state police department that use this round?

Anyone know anything about the Federal P9HS36 9mm +P+ 124 gr. JHP hydrashock?

I'm also wondering about Federal LE tactical HST 124 gr. HP ammo and Federal Premium HST 9mm or is that the same as the above?
