Received my lifetime LTC today!

I got my first 4 year permit in August of 04 (24 day turnaround). When I went on March 20 of this year to renew, this time I had a 46 day turnaround. Still not bad, considering that I've been hearing stories of people waiting several months to receive their lifetime permits. I honestly did not expect to receive my permit until sometime in June, so all in all, I can say that I am pleased.

I don't understand. What's the "lifetime" component of this?

As long as you're alive and a resident of Indiana, you don't have to renew it. No expiration date. Good ol'e Mitch Daniels passed that about 2 yrs ago. Cost isn't too bad either. $125 for first timers. ( My wife just applied last week.)

Yup. and I am JEALOUS! :mrgreen: I applied for my LTC and got it the week before Lifetime was available. I was told by my sheriff's office that I could just renew it as soon as the change happened, but the fact is that there was a provision in the law that put the kibosh on that. Now we can't renew until 180 days before we expire.

595 days, 13 hours, 47 minutes.... but who's counting?
