Just a note, answer the door the door if someone knocks. I opened a house today where the resident, a female, was asleep on the couch three feet from the door. I knocked, selected my pick, knocked again, opened the door, and announced myself upon opening the door. She didn't wake up until I noticed her, had closed the door, retreated, and started down the stairs. Turns out she was a renter and her landlord hadn't informed her that the condo had been foreclosed. If she had been me I would be dead..... can't wait to finish school.

Oh jeez! That's so scary. It makes me think you should always throw a flash bang in first. At least that might have woken her up.

Have you considered a job that isn't quite as risky? Like, wrestling alligators, or riding shotgun at a whorehouse?

Hey Swift,
It goes to show you that the most dangerous situations are the ones you can't prepare for - they come out of the blue. Bet you always thought trouble would come in the form of a drunk with a bat coming out of the bushes while you worked on a door at midnight. Turns out it could have come after you thought the hard part was over.

I'm in a certificate program for Nursing Assistant right now, should be done with that in three months or so. Then I can work in the field I'm studying for. My co-workers noticed the vest finally, so I get crap for that. They all seem to want one though....
One of the things that keeps me up at night is if I have to defend myself I'd almost surely go to jail. The technical aspect says that anyone in residence after a foreclosure is trespassing, and I have the legal right to be in the house as an agent of the bank. Still seems like muddy water to me.
I've been pushing for eviction proceedings to be mandatory on foreclosures, but the realtors are lazy and legally it's not necessary because the residents are no longer the owners of the property. Just gotta survive three more months.

Can you make it mandatory that the eviction is complete before you go? It's not legally mandated, but it's something you personally "mandate"?

Just a thought.http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd198/St-Michael/2c.gif
