As much as I like the new forum, the look and features, I can't help but be disappointed over all of the lost content in these forums. Every post I made since I joined, to include my introduction, has been erased from these forums. I have experience with website forums and migrating the forum database, so I am confused as to how we lost at least a 4 month period of excellent topics and discussions.

I will assume that all attempts at recovering the lost period of time have met with failure. So as an alternate plan, post a link that allows registered members to access the old forums so that they can search for important and relevant topics, and be able to copy and paste those lost posts in the new forum. Unless the old database was lost as well.

It is my understanding that in the move from the old hosting service, the old DB was, in fact, lost. I thought we had only lost a week or so, though; I would be very pleased to find that data still available, however I do not hold out much hope for it at this point. (There are some details of the move that have not been and will probably not be made public.)

Blessings,

Thanks Bill,
as for how much time was lost, I don't know for sure, but I did post an introduction in July, and that is no longer present. So I can assume that anything post-July was lost.

It's not reallly about just the lost content, or the post count being reset to zero, it's that I have noticed a lack of new posts since the migration. I enjoy the lively discussions and current events, and it just seems to me that these forums are awfully stagnant lately. I believe this may be caused by the community disppointment in losing so many current topics.

Perhaps I should start a few new ones, but first, I should probably re-introduce myself. ;)
