I have been thinking about getting a new set of night sights and having them installed on my XD9mm. I have been leaning towards the Tru-Glo TFO's. But on the other hand, I just wonder if a laser sight would be the way to go. Have any of you guy's got laser sights on your guns? If you do, how do you like them? Can you find the dot on your target quickly or not?
I am hesitant because of that. In a crunch time situation, you are not going to have a lot of time to let the laser find its target as compared to open sights and point and shoot. If you have a laser, tell me what you think.Thank's.

I have an M&P with a crimson trace laser grip on it and love it. I have no problem putting the laser on the target. I think it is a little fast and creates less tunnel vision, but that is my opinion. Hope this helps.

C-T laser grips on two of my sidearms and intend to get more.
They work very well for me.

I have lasers on two of my mine. My J-frame .38 has the Crimson Trace LG105 and is so unobtrusive and works so well I wish I had them since day one. Wouldn't trade the LG105's for anything else (except maybe for the nicer 405's). I also have an Insight X2 light/laser combo for my Beretta PX4. I could've done without this one. Can't holster carry with it attached, the flashlight lense gets covered with carbon after a few shots, and the toggle is too far forward for me to comfortably use even with medium sized hands. I ended up drilling holes in the X2 rail notches and tapped in two set screws to move the X2 closer to the trigger.

Crimson Trace are by far the best investment I made.....I had a lasermax put on my 228, but changed it over to the Crimson Trace and feel much better with these grips, it breaks tunnel vison and allow fast response to the target.

I have a question about CT Lasers. After you get your laser sighted in on your pistol, do they stay sighted in very well or not? Are they easy to knock out of adjustment?

having dropped the 642 twice, the CT 105's hold their adjustment well.

Let me start by being provocative. I no longer consider a handgun EDC qualified unless it has a LaserGrip/LaserGuard. Let me explain.
The primary benefit of the laser is not it's tactical use, but it's training use. My two EDC handguns have completely different "feels" to shoot. I have found the use of the laser useful in training myself in smooth trigger control. I dry-fire incessantly (with snap caps). Any movement is impossible to ignore with the movement exaggerated by the distance of the laser dot at the target. Training is perishable. It decays exponentially with time. So frequent practice on the fundamentals is essential to maintain competence.
Some good references on the training benefits of lasers are:

I am trying to learn to shoot with both eyes open. The laser is helpful, but I'm still struggling. I am also practicing point shooting. Use of the laser and dry-firing makes it easy and inexpensive to develop the muscle memory necessary for success. It doesn't take many 45 call cartridges to pay for a laser.
For tactical use, two things to keep in mind. First, electronic stuff can fail, though usually early in it's use. None the less, you must also be competent with your regular sights in case of laser failure. Second, in SD situations, many of the things you learned go out the window. In panic, both eyes are likely to be wide open and you will be focusing on the target, not the front sight. Laser sighting will help in these situations. You will also will be able to use "off iron sight" shots illustrated in some of the Crimson Trace commercials I've seen on the Outdoor channel.
Last, to illustrate my conviction, I would prefer to carry my M&P 45c for EDC. It is great to shoot and easier to conceal carry. But Crimson Trace does not have current plans to develop a model this handgun. Therefore, I EDC my M&P 45fs.

Put the CT Grips (#446) on my XD9sc. Luv it.
Required only a minimal adjustment in overall grip (how I hold it). I bench sighted the laser in at about 10yrds.
