A Trip to Liberal Fantasyland

The shooting at Southcenter Mall this weekend was one of several around the Puget Sound area this weekend. In total, 11 people were shot, one stabbed, three killed. Despite our mayor proclaiming that Seattle "does not have a gang problem"... uh... Seattle DOES have a gang problem. But Mayor Nickels has a plan...he's going to go ahead with his city gun ban. He will in December ban all guns from city buildings and parks.
By the way, Southcenter has a similar policy. There are signs posted at Southcenter saying guns are not allowed on the premises. Gosh, how did that gun ban work out for them this weekend? Maybe the gangbanger who killed the kid couldn't read.
Combine that with the fact that the mayor's plan has already been ruled illegal by the Attorney General and you have a textbook example of liberal fantasyland. I talked about those issues this afternoon with Kristin Comer the Executive Director of Washington Ceasefire.

It's been too long and too troubled a history for me to continue to believe that these gun banning politicos have any altruistic motives. They have to know that gun bans don't stop crime. So, they have another agenda, and gun bans are just a means to achieve those other ends. In the first place, the gun bans they propose NEVER effect them. They have their permits, and police protection, and body guards. They are surrounded by guns every day, and those guns are pointed in our direction. It's so simple, really. The ruling class must disarm the populace in order to insure their unquestioned authority. The fact is, all these liberals LOVE guns, just not our guns. Only their guns.
