Well I made a purchase of a Taurus 24/7 Pro in 9mm. I've only put 100 rounds through it so far but it works like a dream. Used some Winchester white box FMJ at the range, but carry it IWB with 17 JHPs.
I need to give it a clean before I hit the range again tomorrow...

Cranners99, Cool, I don't have a 24/7 but I do have Taurus firearms. They back their stuff 100% for ever and ever.
I dropped my Mdl 85 about 15 feet and it landed barrel first on a piece of steel. I sent it to taurus and they recrowed the barrel for me!!!

Those things are pretty sweet, aren't they? :) I carry a Millennium Pro in 9mm-essentially the same gun in a slightly more compact package, with 12+1 instead of your 17+1, though I found out that the Mil-Pro can take the 24/7 mag.
You're right, though, that they're a leeetle bit finicky when you don't clean them between range trips. Nothing that would be a life/death difference, but the POA is slightly off from normal. Nothing a few passes with Gunscrubber can't fix, though.
Good luck with your new little honey. :)
Blessings,

Congrats! I've handled a 24/7, but never fired one. I liked the feel of the finger contoured grip on the 24/7. In fact, it was after holding the 24/7 that I decided on getting the contoured Hogue grip for my Kimber Ultra Carry. I wish you the best of luck with your new acquisition!

Thanks chaps,
I'm off to the range again tomorrow, taking the FinL, he wants to try it too.

It sounds like you got a good one. Years ago Taurus had a lowsy reputation and they have done a great turn around. I have several and they are considered some of my best all around carry guns. Never failed and have been beat up.
It seems like Taurus got the Price/Gun/Performance ratio right.
Congrats and lets us know how you shoot.

I did hear that Taurus had some issues with early 24/7s, but in .45. My 9 had another couple of hundred put through it today, flawlessly.
FinL had a go and was impressed with it's 17+1 capacity. He has a S&W .357 magnum with a 3" barrel. Makes quite a boom but only 6 times. He has only got small hands and tried a Bersa Thunder .380, $340 later it was his. He's keeping the 357 for in the house but will carry the Bersa.
