Hey Scottech, welcome.

I've got to go visit Tennessee some day. My family came from there. My sainted grandmother traveled from Tennessee to New Mexico as a (very) young bride in a covered wagon. I'm not making this up! Near the end of her life, she came to visit us in California, in a 747. My aunt, who was seated next to her in the plane, asked her how she liked flying. Grandma looked out the window at the ground passing beneath the airplane ever so slowly, then answered: "OK I guess, but somebody ought to tell the driver to hurry up!"

I thought you were going to say, "Somebody ought to tell the driver that we went airborne after that last hill." or something to that effect.

Welcome Scottech. That's truly amazing that someone would travel in a Conastoga and in a jet, each as a popular means of travel of the day, in a single lifetime. Thanks for sharing the story. :)
