After talking with the Web Developer I would like everyone's opinion.
1: if we change the settings to One section for "States" and then have each state under that it would allow for links between our legal site. We can put buttons on the state legal pages pointing to each of the state posting areas.
Does that sound good for the Moderators and any one else?
I am glad we are looking at changing this now and not later. Also I am not sure if we can save the state postings that are there. I will play with them and see if we can.
Please let me know what you all think.... thanks.

I have almost nothing in my section, so it means little to me. It would seem to me that the posts could be cut and pasted to the new section if needed, or we could simply lock the threads that exist now and save what's there, and just put everything new on the new area.
Are you referring to having one section being "states" and that being, for example
CarryConcealed.net Forum Index -> States -> Indiana ?
or were you thinking more of http://indiana/carryconcealed.net/forum ?
I can support either one, since a single topic by state can be subdivided into threads on each of the issues.
Hope that helps!
Blessings,
M

Yes, if I understand your plan correctly, I approve. It would be one Link for "States," which would take you to a list of links for the individual States, and each State link would take you to the topics for that particular State. That would be much more manageable.
I think the existing State topics should just be moved under that State's main link in the new list.

Please notice mrreyonlds post, and his website at http://www.smallarmz.info.
I like the use of the State flags as links to the various State CCW sections. We could do that, or something like that.

What we will also do is add a button on the Carryconcealed.net Law State page to a link to each of the state areas so that you can get more traffic from some one just checking the law section.
The 51 Law pages are already indexed by the google and yahoo search engines. This should help get more state traffic.
I hope this helps - and great suggestions. We want to make any changes that we possibly can that will help in getting a fun active learning forum.
Thanks to everyone!!
Moderators - Your business cards are in and we will be mailing out. I am not happy with this lot and we will want suggestions on the next group we order. Still they are something to hand out at gun shows or clubs.
We will also send out some with just Carryconcealed.net and some information.
Also - any body search on Carryconcealed.com? We just got that re-directed to Carryconcealed.net. We purchased it to help protect the brand.
Thanks, and we appreciate all of the postings and information!!!! :D

There is a patch or module that allows us to move the topics for all of Nevada into one section.
I am adding all of the links tonight so that any vistors to the State Legal section will have a link directly to the same state's fourm page.
Hope this works for everyone! Let me know if we need more changes or sugestions! Thanks.

I just looked at the new set up. This is going to get way too unwieldy when more States have posts. You need to hide the posted topics under/behind the State name on the main list. The State name should link to the expanded list of posted topics.

thanks - we are trying to get this into the one state section. The limitation is PHBB or the forum software. they are moving the Nevada and Indiana sub topics under each one state today. The links will also be on the law page to each state.
It is because of your good sugestions that we are catching these early.
thanks

that is a great idea. Let me check, but we also need to check on the new forum software that we are looking at upgrading to in Nov.
