This looked like a real interesting product -Mossberg Survival Kit in a water proof can.
Whether it’s survival in the backcountry
or hurricane season on the coast,
one can never be too prepared
for the unexpected.
The heart of the JIC™ package is the venerable 12 gauge Mossberg® 500® Pump-Action. Fitted with a compact 18-1/2” barrel and rugged synthetic pistol grip and forearm, it’s offered in your choice of the blued Cruiser® model, the Mariner®, or the Sandstorm™ featuring our proprietary Marinecote™ finish for employment in or around harsh marine environments. Each is sealed in a re-sealable clear bag, and is packaged in a heavy-duty, waterproof synthetic carrying-tube complete with re-sealable top and nylon carrying strap :D

Yeah, the Mossy Cruiser is a great little shottie. But, it's really a face to face, within "how do you do" range weapon. Even then, it must be indexed properly, or you run a substantial risk of missing your target completely. Most people don't realize that the spread of the shot is very narrow, essentially solid slug size, for the first few yards. What I'm saying is, an offhand, hip shot at across the room distances may well miss. That's particularly true in the dark when you're at a high level of excitement.

That's why I prefer a shoulder mounted shotgun with sights. I ordered this Mossberg 930SPX a couple of weeks ago, and will get it next week.

I like the idea of stowing one of those away. I own a couple pistol grip 500's. I agree they are definately an up close weapon. Luckily with practice, they can be very accurate at close range.

VegasGeorge, I'm officially jealous of that SPX!! I've been dreaming about buying one since I first heard about it. That would go great with my 590 A1(with the ghost rings  )

OK, mine came today. It took three weeks for the gun shop to get it. I'm intending to get it out to the range this weekend. It's not exactly easily concealable, but I will get some respect when I carry it.

Respect my butt; what you will get will look something similar to Moses parting the Red Sea.

Nice Gun George. You will enjoy that gun.

I took a an 870 wingmaster and put synthetic furniture and truglo sights, after I found an 18 1/2 barrel. It is fun to shoot.

In a disaster, the 2 most useful weapons to have would be a .22 rifle, or a shotgun... between those, the shotgun is the most versatile.
