What do you guys think about this? Let us know what topics you think should be there - As State Moderators you have control over your states. If you put the Stickys with main topics it can allow you to keep some organization and then still have lots of room for more topics.

Sticky - Where to shoot
Sticky - Training
Sticky - Where to buy
Sticky - Open discussions for the state -
Sticky - State Laws and updates.

Any thoughts?

My first reaction is that stickies set up as discussion threads are going to become way too big over time. The alternative that other forums use is to just allow the Topics to come and go with the flow, and depend on the search function to pull the subject matter together when requested by a user.

A possible middle ground would be to keep them as stickies, but have the State Moderators cull them periodically. For example, recommendations for a store thats now gone out of business, or for a range thats now been closed would be deleted. Similarly, older posts that are obsoleted by newer posts could be culled. Probably, keeping the deleted posts in a trash bin or similar dump would be a good idea.

Just some thoughts.

We can determine as a group to see what is best. The system can delete posts after a period of time and I would vote to see what the Moderators want to do and go with the best thing to for them.

As new Moderators come on line we will have a better idea so that there would be some standards for basic posts. I would like to allow each state Moderator the ability to make decisions regarding their state and provide feed back for the greater forum.

Something that might be of interest to Illinoisans, since we are a "right denied" state and can't get a CCW license from our state would be information on the non-resident Pennsylvania handgun license. Since it can all be done by mail and is accepted in several adjoining states it is useful when traveling, or working out of state.

Great idea - Lets look at putting the sticky there over the weekend.
