Now if I was a Kennedy and had lost 2 to guns, I might very well become anti gun. Misdirected but I can understand and sympathize. What concerns me is anti gun people without such experiences. Dan Rather is seriously anti gun. He has stated so. But about 12 years ago, he encountered an intruder in his home. Guess what? Ole Dan pulled out a gun and halted the intruder. Way to go Dan. But do you want to deny the rest of America that right?

Add Dan to the growing list of elitist hypocrites. Rosie O'Donnell is another. She promotes gun control while walking around with armed body guards. Go figure.

Here is a clip that I had not seen. She admits her body guards can carry.

Gun control reminds me of Prohibition. No one advocating either meant it to include themselves, just others.

Well of course. See, she has money and people know her name, so she's worthy of protection, unlike us little people whose worth is minimal. Ditto Dan Rather, Sen. Dianne Feinstein, etc., the latter of whom has a California CCW permit but doesn't know how to keep her finger off the trigger at public appearances, and doesn't think the rest of us can be trusted with firearms:

"If I could have gotten 51 votes in the Senate of the United States for an outright ban, picking up every one of them, Mr. and Mrs. America, turn them all in, I would have done it."

-Senator Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif, discussing the 1994 "crime bill", one of the largest gun control bills of the last 30 years.
