The text of the second amendment resolution can be found at www.pro2aresolution.com.

The second amendment resolution has passed in 54 counties now. There is a topic on it under politics at the Illinoiscarry.com forum. You can find a map there showing the state and which counties have passed it, colored in green. The southern part amd central Illiois are very green.

The second amendment resolution was in response to a bill introduced by a Senator Kitowski from Chicago in the Illinois Senate that would create a 10 round magazine limit. The idea came about from a discussion of some attenders at the Illinois Gun Owners Lobby day in March of 2007.

It was a resolution affirms that law abiding citizen's right to keep and bear arms as well as viewing any new laws passed by the Illinois Government which restricts or denies 2nd amendment righs as being unconstitional and beyond lawful legislative authority.

Does this resolution mean that Illinois will become a Vermont or Alaska- no permit required for concealed carry, no but it is a start to getting our constitutional 2nd amendment rights recognized and upheld. It sends a message to Chicago area politicians that we have had enough of their anti-gun legislation.
