Hi all! This site was suggested to me from a co-worker and I like what I see! I recently passed all my requirements here in ND for my conceal permit and I'm playing the "hurry-up & wait game" I also recently joined the local range and have signed up for all the weapons saftey & shooting classes I could to get as much professional training I could and add that to my own.
I have experience with mostly rifles/shotguns for "plinking" & duck hunting as a teen and the occational venture with my in-laws into deer hunting and sport shooting now that I'm in my late 30's. I didn't come from a "gun-family" but I married into one 12 yrs ago, and have learned alot and want to learn more.
I'm looking forward to any insight and advice anybody has, and look forward to reading and posting forum topics.
Thanks!

Hey there cupsz71,
Even thinking about North Dakota makes me shiver. What kind of community are you in?
I keep thinking about concealed carry in the winter up there. In my mind's eye I see a guy bundled up like Nanook of the North, fumbling around for several minutes trying to get the gun out from under all that clothing, then finally giving up and throwing snowballs at the bad guy. I suppose it's not that bad?

I realize this is a concealed carry site forum, but Cupsz71 could open carry if he had to, once he gets his handgun license. I don't know how common that is in North Dakota, but it is legal with the license. He may very well need to dress like Nanook of the North in January if he is near Minot.

The final answer would have to come from Stubob or Raccoon, of course, but while the name of this site is carryconcealed.net, I think the emphasis is less on "concealed" and more on "carry".
That's only my personal opinion, however, and if I'm wrong, I'm sure I'll be corrected.... and I'm completely OK with that. :)
Blessings,
M
