Police Find Gator Trying to Cross Street...THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (AP) - Law enforcement officers are trained for all kinds of circumstances, but Ventura County sheriff's deputies were stunned to find an alligator crossing an intersection in Thousand Oaks.
Deputies were called to a residential area about 11 p.m., but admit they didn't believe the 911 call. They arrived and found a 2.5 foot- long gator in the intersection.

Deputy Jason Fuller grabbed the animal by the snout, and taped its mouth shut. It was taken to the Agoura Hills animal shelter.

The state Department of Fish and Game will take responsibility for the gator.

Two and a half feet long? Shoot, that's not even big enough for a good pair of boots or a belt!

Glad they caught it, though.. I remember reading that they have a lot of strength when it comes to closing their mouths, but very little for opening them.

Something to file away in the "Oh $#!t, I'm out of ammo!" file.

Blessings,
M

Any gator is two and 1/2 feet too long if you are swiming.......grin.

And when people see snakes or shoot into the ground, most forget that the bullet will bounce and can kill a stand by person.

Snakes are best dealt with with a nice pattern from a shotgun.

Or, we can just quote from that movie:

"Enough is enough! I have had it with these motherf**king snakes on this motherf**king plane!"

Seriously, good tip, Stuart. Thank you. :)

Just the opposite of politicians, then?

No argument, George, but I think I'd expand it to "politicians", not limit it to just the donkeys.
