I just watched the fly over. What a nice facility!
I wonder how they got those berms so high and nicely shaped? They look like engineered structures. Also, I was wondering if they have a use for the water features on the property, beyond looking nice, that is.

I wondered a bit about the berms, too, George, specifically if they have anything solid inside them, like a steel plate or concrete. I'd think they could achieve that shaping with some fine-mesh chicken wire, but if there's nothing solid in the middle, I'd worry that it might erode away over time. I would NOT want to be the person in charge of keeping the grounds at this facility! :)
The water features might serve as a good way of teaching what happens when you shoot at water (unpredictable ricochets) with an object lesson, or they might allow for what the movies depict as SEAL-type training as well, coming up out of the water shooting. Not being former military, I don't know how accurate that depiction is, but if the rest of Hollywood is any indication, I'm surprised we don't see the Tooth Fairy, Easter Bunny, and Santa Claus coming out of the water a la Rambo.
(OK, sorry about those mental pictures.)
In any case, this is a great facility. I especially like the 360 degree field of fire range area. That looks like it'd be great for training scenarios, cover/concealment, etc.
Blessings,
M
Nice range, but someone needs to tell them to make their site more Firefox friendly. Looks bad in FF, but not bad enough to make me use Internet Explorer.

I took a tour of the facility earlier today, i asked the same thing, the answer was, the body of water is filling up where most of the earth was dug up.
From my understanding they have spent $5 mil on this facility and it is not even finished yet. will be soon though
