According to the U.S. Department of Justice, 27 percent of American women keep a gun in the house and 37.6 million females either own or have rapid access to guns.

I was very surprised, but encouraged by these statistics. With educational sites like this one, maybe we can contribute to getting these numbers up to the 50% mark by the year 2010. :P

With the number of women taking CCW classes and taking defense into their own hands, you may hit your mark of 50%. We are seeing a big increase of women, and when you teach CCW with two things: (1) be aware of your suroundings and (2) attitude; with these two things the bad guys are going to move on to "softer" targets.
