I just bought my first handgun, a springfield xd .45 (4 inch barrel) i am looking for a left hand draw holster to fit this gun, and I would prefer that i get a holster inside the waistband.
What do you recomend?

Congratulations on your new "toy"! I've nothing but good to report from my C-TAC from http://www.comp-tac.com. They make the holster to order, are very friendly and helpful, and have an exceptionally rapid turn-around time. Some say your choices in any purchase where something is custom made are quality, speed, and low price, and that you may pick any two. Comp-Tac puts the lie to that, as I got a quality holster, custom made for my gun, in less than a week, and it ran me about $80, including shipping, which is not a bad price for what I got, which is an adjustable, dependable Kydex holster that I've had to readjust once since I got it and set it how I wanted it. (and that's just because my puppy decided it looked tasty- Now I have an adjustable, dependable, quality kydex holster with some tooth marks on it. I like to think he customized it for me.)
Anyway.. That's my recommendation. Good luck and give us a range report when you have a chance! :)
Cogito, ergo porto.

Nodaywithout - Here is my prediction - You will have more than 3 holsters for that gun very shortly...........
Each holster is very good at what it does. In the winter you may want a sholder rig to go under a hoodie or coat, while in the summer you may want the In The waist.
Take a look at the Highnoon product line. Tim Sshmidt from the USCCA wrote some very good write ups on the Highnoon and says that it is what is in his "Holster Box". I would trust his opinion.

There are also some others - I am just testing some from the Rocking W. http://eldo.net/rockingw/
I have to say that the one from the Rocking W looks good, grabs my 357 and holds in place, while giving me a quick draw. I am writing the review this weekend.
Hope this helps.

i agree, it came with one holster though :( but i can live with it i can use it to try and get used to drawing and shooting with my right had as well
I like High Noon holsters. I use a Bare Asset holster http://www.highnoonholsters.com/Product_Line/Bare_Asset/bare_asset.html for my in the waist band and I like it quite a bit. The XD 45 is a pretty good size gun to holster IWB in my opinion, it's a pretty wide gun. My IWB gun is quite a bit smaller. I'm curious as to what others think about that. I've found larger guns to be more comfortable using paddle holsters, shoulder rigs and the like. That might just be me though. I resort all the way to an ankle holster at times to keep my firearm deeply concealed.
I agree with Stubob on his holster count prediction. You may be saying, "no, not me. I just need 1". That's what I said too. I said I would only use an IWB, but now I have 5 holsters for my main carry. I use the one that fits what I'm wearing best. Most of the time it is deeply concealed.
The only thing to watch with High Noon is the shipping time on a non-stocked holster. Unless you want to wait 14 or 15 weeks for a holster, you need to pick a stocked holster. If you can wait that long, it is more than worth the wait. Excellent holsters.
Good luck and I hope you find a good companion for your new firearm.
