We, the people, are taking a stand. This is encouraging.

So, wait..... According to this story, do I have to wait until I am beaten to a pulp before I can take defensive moves that may lead to a fatality? Ummmm.... No.

In closing arguments on Thursday, Assistant District Attorney Lana Mades said the scratches and bruises Kelly received in the fight were nowhere near the type of serious bodily injury that can invoke the privilege of self-defense.

That is a ridiculous statement. I don't have to have serious physical injury to defend myself. Kelly was sober at the time and the other, bigger guy with friends, was highly intoxicated. Kelly fired 2 warning shots into the ground. Sounds to me like he tried to defuse the situation, he was greatly out numbered and was dealing with people incapable of rational thought. Sounds to me like he did the right thing. Some are saying that he was able to walk away at one point, but who knows if that is really true and if his troubles would have gone away if he had.

Is it just me or is the media trying to do a little twisting in this story to make Kelly the bad guy? I see where they are defending him, but when they defend Bodahl it sounds like they are really stretching it. It seems pretty straight forward that Bodahl was in the wrong and Kelly did what he had to do.

Shoot or call 911?

Shoot. For 2 reasons. She doesn't seem to have a phone in her hand :D and he doesn't seem to be detoured by the fact that she is carrying a gun.

He's coming after her and she has the right to defend herself before he hurts her.
