Another CA boy

Hello everyone,
My name is Ernie and I too am in California, but located in the very liberal San Francisco Bay Area. Getting a CCW in this area is near impossible unless you are a LEO.
I am a fully certified POST Grad. and been around firearms my whole life. My experince ranges from civilian to military to law enforcement and now in the privite sector, so I feel I have been around the block, at least once.
I am also a NRA certified Instructor and like DAN I feel the NRA just gave up on California. We have some outrageous gun laws being passed out here.

Welcome ErnieH. I'm an expatriate Californian living in the free State of Nevada. It was tough for me to leave the State of my birth, but it finally got so oppressive that I couldn't stand it any longer. Believe it or not, I find Las Vegas to have a better moral climate than Santa Monica, the "Sin City" moniker not withstanding.

I had been hopeful that Arnold would turn things around in California. But, I guess the influence of the Kennedys is just too strong. I wish you the best of luck, and I hope you're wrong about the NRA giving up on you.

Keep us posted with the other Calif dudes on what is going on. We as a team can provide a larger voice to the NRA. This will come with time as our numbers grow. WE are working to be the best CCW spot on the net. We have a long way to go, but we are attracting lots of good talent. You will find the moderators very knowledgeable and quick wit. I feel like I am unarmed...grin.

The least amount of CCW issued in California belongs to SF county. EIGHT permits total.

Good to see you ErnieH. Like St.Michael mentioned, I was fortunate enough to move back to free America years ago. I spent most of my growing up life in CA and enjoyed it very much. Such a neat state and such a travesty to have it taken over by libs.

I have family in the SF area. When I got my CCW, my family looked into getting CCW in the SF area and reported the same as you. Just about impossible unless you are a LEO. I hope that things will change someday, but it will probably take something really bad for that to happen. Just know that you have fellow gun supporters in your area, even if they are far and few between.
