I see this as a "gun control" issue. Not control by the government, for gosh sakes, but control by the owner. In the first place, I question the wisdom of using a 357 magnum for defense. Oh, of course it's an excellent weapon, and will stop just about anything. But the penetration power of that load is just too great. Even if you hit the bad guy square on, that bullet is going to find it's next target somewhere behind him. Magnum loads were developed to kill large, dangerous game in the wilds. You know, rhino hunting with a pistol. IMHO it's just too powerful to use in an urban setting.
Having said all that, I'm still looking at getting a Desert Eagle .50. :twisted:
