I'm not much of a fan of cats. I'm much less a fan of Jimmy Carter, but I'm least of all a fan of people who give responsible firearm owners a bad name in this manner.

Well, let's see now. A bleeding heart liberal, who naturally "loves" animals and nature, puts out a bird feeder to better enjoy the little darlings. Then a pesky 'ol cat comes along, and starts scaring off the birdies. But, he "loves" cats too, so he only wants to "sting" it a little to chase it off. So, naturally he goes for the shotgun. Ah "love," where is thy sting?"
Items edited out of 1st draft: "Perhaps shooting from ten feet was a bit too close." "It may ease your grief to know that most of your cat was buried properly."

Jimmy Carter may have shot at the cat with .22 caliber bird shot, I guess they still make them, they did when I was young. That would be something you would only expect to "sting" a cat with when fired from a distance. I imagine this didn't happen in D.C.

CCI still manufactures Shot shell for many rounds. We did on the .22 magnum and have not done one for the .22 bird shot.
