Gentlemen, some of us Califonia boys were wondering the procedure in applying for a Non-resident Oregon CCW. We look forward to any personal experience and advise on this topic. We have our California CCW and a few out of state CCWs for the locations that we vacation in or simply wish to visit, mostly adjoining states. :D

The Oregon Fireams Federation has information on the issuing of non-resident permits under their frequently asked questions. It is available to residents of adjoining states- Washington, California, Idaho, and Nevada. It says that sheriffs have complete discretion on issuing and you are required to have compelling business or other legitamate reasons. They say sheriffs are not eager to issue and one county Marion has a policy of not issuing. Check the site out for more info - oregonfirearms.org/faq
