How in the he** did a central minded person from Kansas end up in the "Peoples Republik of Kaliphonea"? I was not even aware the western mecca of liberal idiosy allowed their subjects to carry a concealed firearm. I am not from the cities you refer to. I live (using this term loosely here) in Dodge City.
P.S. I can trash talk about Cal. all I want because I am a natural born native of said state, although I usually don't broadcast it. Its kind of like my Granddad told me about his upbringing, his dad told him not to speak of being of indian (native american) heritage because good people will think less of you. My father was a marine and while I respect him for his service I will always wonder why he couldn't have been stationed in North Caroline or some place besides Cal., or maybe held off propogating his genes until he was discharged. Oh, the shame of it!

Oh, this is going to be long. I worked for Boeing, in Wichita, and got the good news bad news phone call. I was being laid off. However, the same job was going to open in St. Louis, Philadelphia or Huntington Beach. I was raised in Philadelphia and spent a few weeks in St. Louis. I said “Huntington Beach?” My manager said OK and hung up. I guess he missed the question mark? So here I am. Please excuse the expression but with an extremely vengeful ex in town it was as they say in the movies “Time to get out of Dodge”
You can may possibly carry in CA, IF you live in the correct county and/or are one of the “special people.” Long story, might try Google CCW CA if interested. I am not “special” enough. I am saving my money for going back to KS. I passed through Dodge a few times a long, long, time ago. I understand Dodge has many of the same issues with boarder crossings we have??
I try not to trash talk CA to much. However, it is so, so, easy to do. CA is a very different place. It is like another country to me and I have been to a few. Another year or so and I am gone.
Did you get the KS CCW?

Yeah, I started the process of getting the KS CCW shortly after the anouncement that the state law for the permit had passed. I won't have a carry gun until next weekend though. I'm getting a FEG Hungarian 9X18 Makarov and have a hundred or so hand loads already made up to try in it. Don't think I will have to use it to protect me or wife from a hostile encounter but since it was available thought I should apply. The only requirement in KS for the permit is passing the background check, as in no need to establish just cause for wanting to carry. I don't think other states charge as much as Ks for the permit. My youngest son, Kyle, applied for and recieved his CCW in Washington state and the cost was around $25 or $30 IIRC. Mine was $140 for the required 8hr. state sanctioned course and then $110 when I submitted the application. I guess thats just another way for this greedy state to generate revenue. I guess a guys has to expect to pay dearly to live in a paradise like this. HA HA

Hi Gunpoor, and welcome to CarryConcealed! http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd198/St-Michael/wave.gif When I got my IN permit, in 06, it ran me about $30 for 4 years. My next one, God willing, will be, at present prices, about $100, but that's for lifetime. :)
BOY did that make the Brady Bunch wet their panties when it passed!
Blessings,
B
