I'm really confused about what I want to do. I have a beautiful Toyota MR2 Spyder, dark gray with red leather. It's a 2004, and I only have about 6500 miles on it. I love the little car. But, recently I've felt limited and held back by it. It's only a two seater, and it has no trunk at all. There really isn't any storage space in it to speak of. I don't feel safe leaving anything in the car when its parked somewhere since it only has a cloth top. I can't see taking it out to the range. It's not set up for the dirt roads, and it would be very inconvenient trying to carry my guns and ammo in it. And, finally, it's too small for me to take any of my friends AND their equipment too. In short, it's a wonderful little car that always puts a grin on my face when I drive it, but it just doesn't do the things I'd like to do. So, I'm thinking about trading it in or selling it. That will be a very sad day for me. I'll never have another car as special as my Spyder. Until just a few weeks ago, I was intending to keep her forever. Boo hoo, sniff, snivel, snivel.
Anyway, I'm looking at the Toyota FJ Cruiser. Dose anyone here have an opinion about that?

Any possibility you could keep the Spyder and also get something, well, beefier? (no insult to your Spyder intended- a 10/22 is good for some things, a Rem 870 for others, and there's nothing like the chatter of an AK on rock-n-roll (or so I hear-I don't have one that will do that.))
I know you're retired but I had to at least suggest it. It's not often people think of cars in terms of "forever", y'know? :)

Happens more often as you get older, don't you know.
No, there is no way I could keep my MR2 and get another vehicle too. We are already a two car family, with a two car garage, living in an association that prohibits driveway and street parking. So, two cars is the limit. The wife drives a Lexus RX330, and it would do me fine. But, she won't drive the MR2. She claims it's too small to be safe. The way she drives, she's probably right! (Had to throw that in there! )
Anyway, I haven't made up my mind yet. I may just put a trailer hitch and off road tires on the MR2, force it into double duty. Any ideas for a cool gun trailer?

Double-decker garage? The Spyder's probably small enough... you'd just need a lift to get it out of the way so you could park the FJ under it?http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd198/St-Michael/silly.gif
