How often do we consider the words that many swear by when they take an oath of office? Unfortunately, many politicians in our country violate their oaths by enacting laws that are unconstitutional. I think we, as citizens, should remind elected leaders and public servants, including police officers, of their moral and legal duties to "uphold and defend the constitution." Many in our military are faced with the dilemma of violating their oaths when they are placed under NATO or U.N. command. Have you thought about the dilemma a police officer faces when he is asked to enforce an unconstitutional law even though he has taken an oath to uphold and defend the constitution?
