Arkansas does NOT honor a PA permit according to the AG...

Additionally, you list Alaska, but not Vermont even though both of those states are unlicensed CC states.

Just wanted to point this out.

Hi LilDobe,

I have been for a couple of days, researching the various states' websites and verifying who they do and do not recognize. So far, I'm up to Pennsylvania, alphabetically. Here's what I found for Arkansas:

Arkansas

States that Recognize Arkansas Concealed Handgun Licenses
Arkansas law requires that the reciprocal state have concealed handgun regulations at least as restrictive as the Arkansas regulations. There may be any number of reasons reciprocity agreements for concealed handgun licensing do not exist with states not found in the drop-down menu (below). The most common reasons are 1.) a disparity in training requirements, 2.) lack of specific background checks measures, or 3.) lack of pre-requisites for application.
The pull down menu provided below contains a current listing of states that issue Concealed Handgun Licenses that are recognized and honored by the State of Arkansas. Further updates and additions or deletions may occur at any time.
AL, AK, AZ, CO, DE, FL, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA(state only), MI, MS, MO, MT, NC, ND, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WV

It would seem that your site is out of date. Somehow, I don't think you mind. :)

That's odd, considering the site I'm referencing is my attorney general's site...

I may have to give them a call and verify this...

We have been working very hard to go over the new maps and changes that are about to be released. The back end is very easy to update.

When ever I get a notice, it will be sent out to be checked and verified and then change it. IF the notice comes in with a verifiable link we get it changed right away.

We have noticed that most of the sites on the Interenet are out of date. It is fun to watch the forums when people say this one is up todate and this one is not when we have found problems on all of them including OURS. That is why we are trying to help get Carryconcealed.net family to help point out things like you both brought to our attention.

We need to help all of the internet sites together get the accurate information together inorder to help the entire CCW community. We link to the other CCW and Gun Sites because we belive that they also have good information and when we work together we as a group will be stronger.

Feed back and corrections helps make the site great is !!!! We want to save people headaches!!!

Again thank you both! It looks like we may have helped a State Legal page. We may ask them to link to us (Grin). We have a long way to go and I can not begin to tell everyone how much we appriciate the long hours of testing and looking for information that needs to be updated!

And St. Michael - remind me to put more in your holster stocking going out the door :D :D

I had someone on the Illinoiscarry forum disagree with me a short time back about Carbondale Illinois firearm ordinances. He said that "fanny pack carry" wasn't legal because in addition to having the firearm unloaded in couldn't be immediately accessible. I said he was wrong. He had read it on the Illinois State Police website. It had been changed a few years ago and the not immediately accessible doesn't apply anymore if you have a FOID card and carry it encased and unloaded. I had gone to the city of carbondale website and read the ordinance there.

It is a challenge to keep on top of firearm laws. I hope we can do the best job here.

Lildobe, PA's AG can easily keep on top of what he allows in PA, but there are 47 other states that allow carry, so it's a little tougher to keep track of what all the others may or may not change. As busy as I'm sure most AG offices are, it's probably checked once or twice at most in a year, unless they get a "heads up".

Stubob, I'm glad to help. I finished the file tonight, but I want to give it another "once over" before I send it on to you for use. As you said, so many sites are out of date, so I decided to go to the source. All 50 of them.

Ours will be up to date, that I can guarantee, at least until something changes.

As for the holster stocking... It's not necessary, but I won't turn it down. It's nice doing something that'll help people.

Blessings, all,
M

That is interesting that the Attorney General in Arkansas says they don't honor Pa. Someone on the Illinoiscarry forum mentioned that the info here was wrong because Arkansas did recognize Pa. I have a non-resident Pa license and said I was sure they didn't . I called the Arkansas State Police and they checked their "new list" and said a number of states were added Oct. 1 and yes its recognized.

Not quite, JB. The site LilDobe cited is the AG for PA. They just hadn't updated that AR now recognized them. Our site will soon be updated with the most current info, directly from the state sites.

Here is another exhample of the state's own pages being incorrect.

We had a reader let us know that the Louisiana Honored page is wrong and should honor Penn. Looked at the Louisiana Page and it is there. But go to the Penn page and it is wrong.

Sent notes to both for clarification and we went a head and changed the Louisiana side, but not the Penn side.

It is tough to keep the law pages current when the main legal sections for each state is wrong.

Thanks to everyone for helping!!!!!
