It is always best to carry the biggest round that you can handle - well it is nice to see some women that can defend and protect their families. :D

At the other end of the spectrum is the little lady that can't seem to manage any gun. That's my wife I'm speaking of. She's a tiny 5'1", 93 lb lady with arthritis in her hands. She has expressed an interest in learning to shoot, but she just isn't able to operate a gun. I've taken her to several gun shops to try out various weapons. She doesn't have the strength in her hands to rack the slide on any pistol or cock the hammer on any revolver, or pull through the trigger on any double action. If a pistol is all set up for her (cocked and locked), she can shoot it, of course. But, the result is very painful for her. I'm not sure there is any good answer for her problem.

Well my Girlfriend is about 5'4'' and she can handle weaponry. she probally shoots better than me
Vegas George, same problem with my little wife. I came up with a good solution for shooting. A Kimber 22 on a 45 frame. 22 Conversion or the std Kimber. My wife likes the big frame, can rack the slide, do to the 22 springs and the weight does away with recoil. Great compromise. She has worked her way up to NRA expert on the qualification program. Any 22 conversion would probably work, Hi Power, glock. Sig.

Dan, thanks for the suggestion. I had her try racking slides on 22s. I specifically remember her trying the little Keltc, and a Ruger, I think. She just couldn't pull them back. It was a grip problem as I recall.
Do you mean that the slide racks easier on a 22. conversion?
Vegas George, Yes the conversion is a lot easier. My wife, pushing 60, can not rack a ruger 22, my CZ in 32acp or any other auto.
I think that it may also be that the slide is so much larger she can really grip it well. She has shot revolvers for years but the recoil was taking it's toll.
If I was nearby I would come by and we could try it out. One other good thing is that it is a tack driver, the most accurate 22 I have ever shot.
