When they were to be massacred at Masada, they killed themselves. But they say that they will not go down without a fight.

Locally, several years ago, there was a shooting at a chicken restaurant. A former employee broke in after they closed up and took the employees to the freezer, and made them get down on their knees. They were mostly teenagers working that night. He systematically shot each one, one by one, while the rest waited with clenched hands holding each other. When they were found, several were still holding onto the shirts of their friends, bracing for the blast to end their lives.

My friends and I decided then and there that we would not go quietly into the night. If all looks like it will fail, we would charge the shooters and fight back. Maybe dying anyway, but sometimes the hard choices are the only chance you have. Of course it is a lot easier if you have a pistol on your hip. I hope I am never in that predicament, but if I am, I hope that I have the courage to tackle it head on.
