Below is an eBay listing for a UTG SHOULDER HOLSTER by UXSPORTS, have any of you ever seen or even tried this holster on? It's very reasonable price wise, it appears to be very comfortable with plenty of shoulder coverage to help take the strain of small, thin straps off your shoulder. I guess I'm just curious to know if it's not as as cheap as the price is! I like the looks anyway, and the price rather surprised me compared to other shoulder holsters. Please let me know what you think of this holster or even if you've ever tried one out.

For the price this looks great. After shopping for years, I have found that the lower cost material used in these are not good for long term storage of the firearm.

The shoulder rig allows for many advantages; going to the bathroom with out having to take the gun out of the holser (important at my age), carrying two additional magazines, and comfort. I also use one and just hang it at the corner of the bed at night. I have had many calls where I have to go out of the house to help people with car trouble or other general being a friend and it is good to just grab on the way out.

The padding looks like it will help spread the weight of the firearm and magazines around, but it also looks like you might have to have a heavier vest or coat to hide.

As I stated above, do not let the material hold you up. I would just have some remington gun wipes around and wipe the gun once and a while as the lower cost material is not good for long term storage.

For the cost it looks great!!! The the advice in this post is worth the price you paid! Grin. :D

You get what you pay for, If you invest in good gear, it will last. Remember your safety is dependent on your gear.

I've always felt that way also ErnieH, but I invested in a Mitch Rosen shoulder holster, Mitch is a premier holster maker, one of the best around, if not the very best! Though his holster was superb in quality I felt the shoulder straps were designed way too narrow because after awhile the weight of my 1911 fully loaded began to hurt my shoulders.

I'm not talking bad about Mitch Rosen, he's well known for top quality work and one look at his holsters will confirm this, I'm just saying that what he had to offer didn't work well for me. Compare Mitch's shoulder holster here, http://www.mitchrosen.com/product_line/product_line.html to the holster I listed in my post above, note how narrow the straps are where they go over the top of your shoulders with Rosen's holster compared to the other one I posted at the begining of this topic!

This is the main reason I was considering this other holster, cheap or not! As long as it works and allows me to carry all day comfortably I don't care who makes it or if it costs $12.00 or $380.00, this may sound funny but if the cheap one wears out in a year my calculator tells me I can buy 31 of them at $12.00 each before I reach what I spent for the one I bought from Rosen! :D

Thanks for your response,

ErnieH is right as my shoulder rig is a Galco and I have a Highnoon on the way to test. I also have about 4 simular to the one you showed. I use those when I am working in the woods and I wear the Galco when in regular clothes. I would rather tear up a cheaper holster and break the strap. In town, I like the more expencive holsters.

It is good to have both and at $12 you can afford to toss it off on the side when you dont' like it. Or as others have done, sell them on e-bay..

Thanks for both posts!!!
