Just looking for opinions of Ruger's new P345 .45 Auto. I've been surf'n the web and the general consensus I've put together sofar :

1. Good Solid Gun - for being plastic
2. Some can take or leave the magazine disconnect safety feature
3. Hard double action trigger pull - about 8+lbs
4. Affordable
5. "Nice" looking - (that's what caught my eye)
6. Some sticky magazine issues

Those are the most talked about highlights, and I haven't found one locally to actually hold and "inspect" myself. I'm 6'05" 300 + lbs and am not a fan of IWB holsters, and prefer a paddle or high ride belt config. This Ruger caught my attention cause I'm looking at getting a smaller auto/larger cal. (.40/.45) as my new choice for my everyday carry weapon. (sorry, not a Revolver man, and I luv my 92FS but am finding it isn't sucessfully compact enough as a CCW to my liking) :?

Any insights? Suggestions? Take it/Scrap it?

Thanks

Well sortly after posting this message I realized that the Ruger P345 is practically the same size as my 92FS.

DOUGH!

Ah well, the search continues....think'n now about the new SIG 250 Compact........

The Sig 250 would be a great gun and the fact that is a completly transformable platform. You can have your choice between any caliber you want simple by dropping in a barrel or even changing the gun from a full size to a subcompact, within seconds.
I am a huge Sig man, in fact I have an article on it that was just posted, (way to plug it in). You can also look at the Sigg 229 in a .40 or .357 sig. I think that would give you your large caliber. The new Sig 220 Compact is a great gun too, even more so if you go with the SAS, now that is a hot piece of gun.

Well my new "addiction" to having more handguns for various applications, and my seemingly ever growing "need" to have more is getting to be....well spendy. And I find I'm not minding all that much.

Since I bought my 92FS in early Nov. for $499, and picked up the wife's RUGER, and with the CC Permit & Courses, and accessories/range&ammo costs and all the misc. stuff has pushed past the $1000 mark, and I'm still not done.

WOW

The new SIG 250 in either .357Sig or .40S&W is the front runner for my next purchase for my CCW because of it's flexability in options and overall appeal. The $ factor is high, but I'm trying to be as patient as possible and see what the next couple of months bestow.

Good thing that you posted this comment about the size. I was considering the Ruger just because I don't have one of those. As to the size comparison, are we talking full size 92FS or 92FS Centurion?
