SIG P220, or any variant thereof?

I'm looking for the best price locally on the P220 Carry and P220 Carry Equinox. I found the P220 to be no wider, practically speaking, than a Kimber Pro Carry II, and the SIG was much more comfortable. The slide on the SIG was also no wider than some of the commonly recommended plastic wunderguns, and again, the SIG feels much better in my hand.

Anyway, just wondering if anyone on here owns and/or has carried a SIG P220, or any of the variants. Thoughts, opinions, etc are welcome. http://www.ducatimonster.org/smf/Smileys/classic/thumbsup.gif

I have carried the Blued P220 in .45ACP. I put Houge rubber grips on it and I used the Don Hume IWB holster and it was very comfortable. With its alloy frame, it is a bit lighter than most .45 autos.

I own the regular Sig 220, the 220Carry-R SAO and the Sig 245. If you intend to IWB, then the 1911 will be more comfortable because of the bulkiness of the Sig's slide. If you intend to OWB, then the P245 is actually more concealable because of the shorter grips. If you get a version with the rail, then you will have to use a holster that will accomadate the extra material. A non-rail version will fit in either holster but not vice-versa.
One thing that I did find out with my non-rail versions is that one holster will fit almost all of them, full size and compact. My DeSanti will hold my 226, 229, 245, and 220.

Huntington Beach PD, CA issued the Browning BDA now called a Sig P220 for 15 years. Great Gun. The first DA shot is normally in the ground in a real shooting.

Can't go wrong with a Sig. The 220 has many variants to consider. The new 220 Compact makes a great concealed carry gun. It takes off alot of the size of the 220 .

I don't carry a 220 but I regularily carry a Sig 229 SAS. Both guns I am sure are of equal size (thickness and weight). It is a joy to carry.
