Hello everyone...I would like to hear about the para covert carry .45 w/LDA trigger. I am no stranger to cocked and locked..( have a colt gold-cup within easy reach now )..but I would like to have a double action with manual safety for ccw use. does anyone have any info , good or bad , about the para's??? thanks

Long Beach Police Department (CA) issues the LDA to all recuirts. Most have their own SA 45 by the time they leave the Academy.
Para does not have a good name with the major Gunsmiths. Most list they will even work on them. It's listed on their web sites.

I bought an LDA when they first came out and I had SERIOUS problems with the trigger. On occasion, it would not reset and the gun would fire without me touching the trigger. It has happened to at least one other person that I know, too.

thanks for the input guys. I don't want to spend that kind of money for a defense weapon and have it fail when an if I need it. I have also considered the glock 36 but wish it had a manual saftey.

Para's are very good guns. I have the LTC alloy and the Para CCW both are 45's and have been the most reliable guns I have had. I trust my life on my Para CCW for concealed carry. Opinions are just opinions; do some real research and you too will see they are worth every dime. 8)

Have a Carry 9, that has the LDA trigger and except for a couple of FTE within the first 4-5 magazines, have not had any other problems, it's become my main carry in the winter time over my G26 and G36.

I've just purchased a Para. Warthog after some very serious questioning of Para's rep.....So far I've run everything from Wolf (ya Wolf!) all the way to Fed. Hydra-shok's. Not one problem with the gun. I have heard that some of the guns that come from them need to be sent back, but from the people that I talk to, state that most of the "problem" guns are usually "user" error. Try and go to a range where you can rent a Para and try on before you buy one.

I wanted to update this post. After reading all the input from fellow memebers and haveing finally found a dealer that handled both Para and Kimber brands, I bought a Kimber tactical ultra II with 3 in. bbl. While the Para's seemed like very good pistols , the Kimber just felt better to me. Mainly I didn't like the LDA trigger like I thought I would (it was me , not the gun). Haveing owned several Colt 1911's I decided to stay with the single action design. Again I want to thank everyone for their input on the Para's. They are nice pistols .
