I went shooting out in the desert yesterday with about 12 of my FJ Cruiser buddies. I had a great time! We ran a couple of fun tactical drills.

We set up four PVC and cardboard target stands. We shot at three of them, and used the fourth as a "barricade" to hide behind and shoot. We started with our backs to the first target, turned, drew out weapon, and took three shots while backing away from the target. Then, we turned and took three shots at the second target while moving toward it. Finally, we "hid" behind the fourth target stand, while taking three shots at the third target from a greater distance than the first two.

We placed cans and plastic bottles on the ground in four pairs, spaced about 10 feet apart. Then we simulated an emergency situation by running to get our shotguns, then running to a start point, and shooting the first can without hitting the paired bottle, and running down the line, shooting each can in turn. The target cans were about 20 feet from where we were running down the line.

It was so much fun, and seemed like such valuable training, that I'm going to figure out several more exercises like that, and take the necessary targets, etc., with me the next time I go out.

Vegas - That is a great way to add to your 4 wheel club!!!

Great idea and good use for PVC..We use them as a base and put the two boards on each side. Great stand and cheap!

What did your other 4 wheelers think? Did they all shoot or were they worried?
