I live near Tyler tx. 2 yrs ago a shooting accured at our county courthouse, a man with an assault rifle killed his ex wife and wounded his son, he was wearing a vest, A chl holder was walking down the st. when he saw the suspect shooting he fired several rnds at the subject hitting him once, the subject then shot and killed the chl holder, later the subject was killed by pd. since this assault the county corthouse has allowed chl holders to carry in the courthouse. you can google tyler courthouse shooting to see what happened. OK, I looked at some sites re Tyler Courthouse shooting. That was a horrific incident. However, I didn't see anything specific about the Courthouse allowing CCW. Maybe you could post a link?
What I did find was this incredibly informative, and profoundly moving web page about the Tyler shooting. It's well worth a look>

I got this info from a leo,but he was misinformed, the courthouse allows the judges and attorneys to now carry guns in the courthouse. not chl holders and I apologize for giving the wrong info.

... "A legally armed citizen, Brendan McKown, chose to intervene. He drew his 9mm pistol but did not fire. Instead, he verbally ordered Maldonado to put down his gun"...
I don't get that. If the guy is willing to carry, he has to be willing to us it! Chance in hell that I'd draw my weapon and order someone to drop the gun they've just used to mow down people around me. I'd drop the SOB and let the gun fall with him.
Drawing your gun and barking out orders just doesn't make sense to me. Call me trigger happy, but I would have shot the guy and not said a word.

This was definitely a tragic situation. I think that the analysis of the two shootings was an extremely well thought out article and we should consider getting the permission of the author to post that article in our article section. It has alot of good points for the every day CCW holder.
Thanks for the post.
