This is the type of story that I read and just know will be used by those who want to disarm us.

Another story I heard on the local news station stated that he was showing his guns off to his friends at a party. To prove that one of the guns wasn't loaded, he put it to his head and pulled the trigger. Obviously it was loaded.

Yeah, this was a local story here in Portland, Oregon. There was heavy alcohol use by the guy, which is a violation of the most basic safety rules. There was an early report that he was trying to get into police work, but that hasn't been reported since.
We had aother similar incident just before Christmas. A guy who had just been hired by a local cop shop, was practicing his "fast draw" at home and accidently shot his wife. Violation of another basic safety rule. In this case, no booze involved, but he is a Marine, who had just returned from a tour in the Sandbox. He knew better. Now the police department isn't sure they will hire him.
Fast draw? "Stupid is, as stupid does."
The media likes to report on these, but for some reason downplay any story of a gun owner saving a life by neutralizing a bad guy. Odd, huh?

I had heard about the "fast draw" guy. He was a former Marine if I'm not mistaken. That whole story sounded fishy to me. Wondered how much of an accident that really was. The story said he was training to become a LEO - know what ever happened with that?
