As soon as you pick up a gun, or a gun is handed to you, you check and make sure it is unloaded. And what the hell was his finger doing in the trigger gaurd anyway?

What was his finger doing in the trigger guard, Novel Idea? Good question. This nimrod violated not one, not two, not even three, but ALL FOUR of the Four Rules!
All guns are ALWAYS loaded.
Never point a gun at anything you don't want holes in.
Keep your da*n finger off the da*n trigger!
Know your target and your backstop.
I also like the longer version of this where the kids go @$$holes and elbows for the door when he reaches for a EBR.

Yea, in that longer version he almost seems insulted and a bit indignit that everyone was telling her to put it and and started to leave.
Wonder how bad his injuries were? Bet his ego took a serious ass kicking!
