The Fobus seems to stick out and wobble on my hip (I carry at around 3:30 to 4:00) and the Matrix allows the muzzle to dig into my seat cushions as a result of the low profile and open muzzle.
Ask your pal if he knows when the automobile was invented, and why he isn't floating around on his Jetson's rocket car? 1911's are still around because they work so well.
Is your Fobus a belt holster, or paddle? I find that the paddles do move around a bit, but with either type I like them. Perhaps a thicker belt may help. I like my holsters to be movable, while I'm standing or walking I keep them at 3:00 and when sitting in my car, I slide them forward a bit to keep the metal out of the fabric of the seats, which has the added benefit of making the pistol more accessible with seat belt in place.
That's what works for me, but your mileage may vary.
